A Little Sabbatical

With the craziness of summer and that queer little crafting obsession turned (potential) money making venture, I've had no time to blog. I'm hoping to introduce Hip Clips on eBay and see if there's any interest, if not I've had fun making them and Miss Gert and all her friends will have bows for a long time.

We're headed out for our annual 4th of July trip on Friday, so I doubt there will be a ton of blogging until we return. But, knowing how our road trips go, I should have some good stories.

We're Home!

Wow, so much going on, so little time write. Last night Gert, DB and I arrived home from Florida. DB had an incredibly good time at Oma's. I mean, how could he not? He got to play tennis, go swimming, go to the beach, ride his (new) bike, rollerskate, and most of all, be an only child. I was worried he might not want to come home, but he was quite happy to see me and kept asking when we were going--he didn't want me to leave without him.

It was nice seeing my mom again, I miss her so darn much. She's been talking about moving closer, and I poo-poo'd it because she hates Missouri, but lo and behold, I think she's really serious. She brought it up multiple times and never once did I hear the standard "no way in hell am I moving back to St. Louis". Heee, that makes me a little giddy, but time will tell.

And, because life has to always be an adventure, the first tropical storm of the season, Alberto, chose to head straight for us, of course due to make landfall the day I fly out. Thankfully nothing really came of it in our immediate vicinity and not even much turbulence to speak of.

All in all, life is good, now I just need to figure out how to not go utterly insane with three kids home all summer.

Some Firsts from Ms. Gert

First trip to the post office (she'll be there in 3-5 days mom)

First nose scruch--she's working that cute angle hard (good thing).

First Bikini and first swim, she's a natural

First beer, just kidding, it's more like her third (cutting first tooth).

First plate of spaghetti (I finally dumped it on the tray when my efforts at feeding her spoonfuls resulted only in tortured screams)

First queer mommy crafting obsession. MUST HAVE CUTE MATCHING HAIR BOWS!!! (yes, I am in therapy, why do you ask?)
